separated but still living together… how do you actually do this?

We separated just before christmas but because of money and the kids, we’re still living in the same house. Different bedrooms, trying to keep things calm, but honestly it’s awkward and tense in ways i didn’t expect.

Some days we barely speak, other days it feels like we slip back into old routines and it messes with my head. The kids know we’re separating but i don’t think they realise how final it is yet, which makes it harder.

I’m struggling with boundaries. What’s ok to talk about? Should we still eat together sometimes or is that confusing? And how long is “temporary” before it starts doing more harm than good?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s done this and come out the other side.
