Hi there - as you may seen in the news over the past few days, the new Divorce Bill has had it's second reading in Parliament. However, as much as this is progress there are still no further details in regards to when the laws will change. We will post any updates on our social media so please follow us and we'll keep you informed!

My husband and I are married for 4 years of which we were separated for 2 years. My husband is a carer and also is also on unemployment benefits where as I am employed. We don't have children and negligible monies in our bank accounts. My issue is that he does not have any intention and does not take any efforts to take up a proper job so that we can have a family. This is the reason why we want to divorce. He and I have been living independent financially during our separation. Would I have to pay a spousal maintenance in this case.

Hi B,
We have just received confirmation that no-fault divorce should be implemented in Spring 2022.
Please feel free to book in a call with us to talk about what that means for your personal situation.
