Hi, I want to buy my husband out and remain in the property with our son. Mortgage provider has said I cannot do a change of parties to remove my husbands name as an original lender must remain on the mortgage (I was added to the mortgage at a later date once I sold my flat). We have a high early redemption fee (£7.5K). My husband now wants to port the mortgage to a new property to avoid paying this (although is in no hurry to find a property). What are my options in this circumstance? If I get a new mortgage, am I then liable for stamp duty?
