We can't afford lawyers. I do the Lion's share of childcare. I work full time but my salary is significantly less than his. He cohabits with his girlfriend. He has quite a lot of debt too. WE are fairly amicable but can't agree on finances so will go to family courts. Do I need to prepare the consent order before we go to court - the problem is I don't know what is fair and don't want to shoot myself in the floor but am aware we both deserve a dignified life. Can the judges not decide on our behalf?
