We agreed to divorce last summer and things moved along fairly smoothly at first. Then just before christmas my ex said they wanted to pause everything. Not stop, just “pause and breathe”.
I don’t feel the same. I’ve done a lot of emotional work to get to this point and going backwards feels really unsettling. At the same time, i don’t want to be cruel or pushy.
Has anyone else had an ex ask to slow things down when you were ready to move forward? How did you handle it without things getting messy or resentful?
