We separated last spring and things were fairly calm at first. We agreed in principle to sell the house, split the equity, and keep things as straightforward as possible for the kids.

But over the last couple of months it feels like my ex has just… stopped engaging. Emails go unanswered for weeks, decisions that felt agreed are suddenly “not the right time”, and every practical step seems to stall. The house hasn’t gone on the market, finances aren’t moving forward, and I’m left feeling like I’m chasing or pushing all the time.

I can’t tell if this is fear, avoidance, or a way of staying in control, but it’s exhausting. I don’t want to escalate things unnecessarily, but I also can’t stay stuck like this indefinitely.

Has anyone dealt with an ex digging their feet in like this? How did you get things moving without it turning into a huge conflict? Or did you have to change approach completely?
