Thank you for your help with this.
Prior to getting married my soon to be ex wife stated she would not go after my pension. She is now trying to go after my pension. I have documented evidence to say she wouldn't proceed along this route. Do I have a leg to stand on or is she going to take half my pension? I have earned significantly more than her for the sake of the family which is now to my detriment.

Thanks for your help

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your message. Pension sharing can be a complex part of separating finances, and while any documented agreements made before marriage may be taken into consideration, they aren't always legally binding unless they were formalised at the time.

The courts will look at a range of factors when deciding how assets should be divided, including contributions to the family and future needs. It may be helpful to speak to a Divorce Specialist who can explain your options and help you understand what a fair outcome might look like in your situation.
