Who would be best to speak to in relation to child custody and housing? I'm separated from my ex-partner who is birth mum and has primary care for our children. I have 50% custody but I'm only entitled to a one bed property through the council as I'm not primary carer, in receipt of child benefit and I don't have a shared custody order. Without a shared custody order, I'm only entitled to a one bed property with three children. The solicitor said that the courts will not entertain such a request to simply appease the council housing team. My ex will not help. Is there anything I can do? It's making me feel like I'm not a significant parent and is not something I was aware that could be a problem.
