Complete Negotiation Service

During your divorce, you and your ex-partner must agree how to divide your finances – property, pensions, debt – and set up any maintenance payments. To make this legally binding and prevent future claims, you'll need a consent order.

Our Complete Negotiation Service is for couples who need end-to-end support to reach a fair agreement, or those who have more complex financial or emotional circumstances.

For parents, we also offer an extra Separating with Children Service to support your co-parenting journey.

Recently separated | £350k property equity | £30k joint savings | 2 children

Natalie and Ben's separation was still very fresh. They were living under the same roof, barely speaking, and struggling to manage conversations, let alone decisions.

They had two young children, aged five and three, and a shared home with around £350,000 in equity. They also had about £30,000 in joint savings, but emotions ran high every time the topic of money or parenting came up.

Unsure how to move forward, they chose amicable’s Complete Negotiation Service to help them work through both the emotional and practical challenges of divorce. With gentle, structured support, they were able to talk more openly, explore options, and through the Separating with Children Service, build a co-parenting plan they both felt good about.

Their Divorce Specialist helped them stay focused, pace decisions to match their emotional readiness, and keep the needs of their children at the centre. They walked away with a financial agreement that worked for their family and a strong foundation for their future co-parenting relationship.

20+ years married | £700k property equity | £350k pensions | £150k savings and investments | 2 children

Tom and Rebecca had been married for over two decades and were separating with significant assets: two properties with around £700,000 in combined equity, pensions totalling £350,000 between them and £150,000 in savings and investments. They also had two children, aged eleven and eight.

They hadn’t started conversations about how to split things yet as the breakup was so fresh and emotions were raw.

They chose amicable’s Complete Negotiation Service in the early days after their separation, to help them maintain communication and work through every decision in a structured, safe space with their Divorce Specialist. The one-to-one guidance helped them through difficult moments. With full support, they divided their properties and planned fairly around their pensions and savings. They came away with a court-approved agreement — and a stronger foundation for their new futures.

7 years married | £65k property equity | £5k car | £8k debt | No children

Sophie and Daniel had been married for seven years and owned a small flat worth just under £200,000. With a mortgage, that left them around £65,000 in equity. They also shared a car worth £5,000 and had some joint credit card debt — roughly £8,000.

When they split, they were barely speaking. Tensions were high, and neither knew how to start sorting things out.

They chose amicable’s Complete Negotiation Service for full support from start to finish. Their Divorce Specialist helped them take stock of everything they owned and owed, explore fair solutions and reach a clear agreement — without the stress of separate lawyers or unpredictable costs. With clear guidance, they divided their assets, made a plan for clearing the debts and moved forward with confidence and closure.

10 years married | £9m shared money and property | 2 children

Arthur and Rachel had built a successful life together over ten years — running businesses, investing in property and raising two teenage boys. By the time they separated, they had around £9 million in combined assets, including company shares, pensions, savings and a valuable rental portfolio.

Despite having very different views on how to divide things, they were united in wanting to keep things respectful and avoid a long, expensive legal battle. They chose amicable's Complete Negotiation Service to help them work through their finances with care and consideration.

Their Divorce Specialist guided them through every decision, helping them find practical solutions while staying connected emotionally. They explored options for dividing their business interests, pensions and investments, and used amicable's co-parenting support to plan for their boys' future. With a fixed-fee structure and court-approved consent order, they reached a fair outcome that left them both feeling in control of their futures.

How long does it take?

Divorce takes a minimum of eight months to complete, with services which include a consent order taking longer.
