Invitations

How do invitations work on amicable Co-Parenting?

Once you have downloaded and activated your free trial, you can invite your co-parent. You will be prompted during the initial set-up of your account but you can also go to Settings and invite your co-parent there as well. Once you enter your co-parent's email address, that person will receive an email invitation. The email will contain a link requesting them to download the app, they will need to sign up with the same email address that you invited them with. They will be then be linked to your account.

How many family members can I invite to amicable Co-Parenting?

Currently you can only invite your co-parent to the app, however we are working on allowing additional users such as step-parents and grandparents to the app, so watch this space.

What can my co-parent see and do in the app?

Your co-parent can do and see the same things you as you. You can both create events or schedules in the shared calendar feature, create goals, send messages and upload important documents. You can also edit or archive the content you have added to the app, but you cannot edit or archive the content your co-parent has added (only they can do that). Chat messages cannot be deleted by either you or your co-parent. (There is only an option to remove the last sent messages within 20 seconds).

My co-parent uses an Android phone and I use an iPhone can we still be linked?

Yes, the app is supported on both iOS and Android. You and your co-parent can have different phones and still be connected.

I am getting the following error when trying to invite my co-parent - 'A user with this email addres

This happens when the person you’re trying to invite already created a separate amciable Co-Parenting account. If that happens to you, please email us and we will be able to manually link the two accounts.

Calendar

What do the coloured circles and the dots on the calendar mean?

The coloured circles represent shared cares schedules, there are different colours depending on the type of schedule:

  • overnight schedule - yellow indicates when the children are with you and blue indicates when the children are with your co-parent
  • holiday schedule - purple indicates the children are with you and green indicates when the children are with your co-parent The dots represent events that you and your co-parent have added to the calendar.

How do I see next month or the previous month on the calendar?

To navigate through the calendar, use the arrows at the top to move through to future or past months.

How do I see what is happening on a particular date?

Tap on the day that you want details for and the individual events will display below the monthly view.

How do I add an event?

To add an event, tap the '+' in the bottom right corner and select 'Create an event'.

How do I edit an event?

Select the day of the event and then tap specific event you want to edit. Tap the edit icon in the bottom left corner, edit the details and re-save the event.

How do I delete an event?

Select the day of the event and then tap specific event you want to edit. Tap the bin icon in the bottom right corner and select delete. You can delete individual incidences of a recurring event or delete the whole series of recurring events.

Shared Care Schedules

How do I add a schedule?

On the calendar, tap the '+' in the bottom right corner and tap 'Add co-parenting schedule'. Select if you want to add an overnight, school or holidays schedule and choose your desired schedule option.

How do I edit a schedule?

To edit a schedule, select a day on which the schedule is displayed and then tap the schedule event on the daily view. You can then edit the schedule by tapping the edit icon in the bottom left corner.

How do I delete a schedule?

To delete a schedule, select a day on which the schedule is displayed and then tap the schedule event on the daily view. You can then delete the schedule by tapping the bin icon in the bottom right corner.

How many schedules can I create?

You can create as many schedules as you like, please note that holiday schedules will overwrite the overnight schedule for their duration.

What types of schedules can I create?

We have three different types of shared care schedules available. They are:

  • Overnight
  • Holidays
  • School pick-up/drop off

What if my schedule is not one of your templates?

Not an issue, we have a custom schedule function where you can build your own schedule that is unique to your set up.

Messaging

Are messages time-stamped?

Yes, messages are time-stamped with the time and date of when they were sent.

Can messages be edited or deleted?

No, once a messaged has been sent it cannot be changed or deleted.

I want to download our message history for court, is this possible?

Yes, if you go to settings and select 'Request my data', your data will be emailed to you.

Goals

Can I create more than one goal per category?

Yes, you can create as many goals as you want. There is no limit and they will be organised by category. If you have multiple goals per category, you just need to swipe left to scroll through all of the goals you have created.

I want to create a goal but can't see one similar to what I want, can I create my own?

We have both custom and template goals available. You can either select one of our templates and edit it, or if nothing matches up with what you are looking for, you can create your own custom goal.

Do I have to share my goal with my co-parent?

No, you can decide if you want to keep a goal as a personal goal or if you want to share it with your co-parent. You also do not have to accept every goal that is shared with you by your co-parent. If you share a goal with your co-parent the status of the goal will show as 'In discussion' and if the goal is accepted, the status will changed to 'Agreed'. You can comment on goals that are shared with you, allowing you and your co-parent to discuss the goal in greater depth.
